My time at Sunrise special care center

My internship was amazing, such a good time and experience for life. First day I was so nervous, but the day before I met a british man named Frank at my hostel that did volunteering at the same place so I went with him in his car. When I walked in I felt the heat of love right away, a woman met me and asked who I was. I told her I was going to volunteer here, they hade not got the dates right. But she gave me so much love and welcoming anyway. She showed me around the full place, I said hi to all students and teachers. Then I chose Nicole's classroom.

At first it was hard with all the names and then they told me about their disabilities so I would know what they liked and dont. All the south african people care and speak so friendly all the time, they cared more about me and the kids than about themself. They start their sentence with oh love or lovely. That is a big diffrence from home and something we in Sweden should mimic. The care should be so much better and a funier place to work in. The kids had a good respect for the adults that was amazing. And you probably think that they hit their kids all the time, but they dont. They did before but now it is not allowed any more, by law. Ofcourse I see some hard hands but not much. One boy they rolled in a carpet and tensile when he was all over the place, then he got calm and sometimes fell asleep.

At first I was a bit shocked but when I rethinked about all the resources we have at home with all the facilities/aids. I found it very helpful and inventively, they did what they could from their wiew. I am so greatfull that I was chosen to do this awesome journey and internship, I will never forget it or them. The last day was very emotional for me against the kids and staff. This care center exist because of sponsors and charity, the oldest boy soon to be 36 years still coming to this place is Keenan and his parents started this place.
My and the supervisor Heinrich last day.
